Living in a haunted house – Part 28

When I tell people that I have a ghost in my house, most of them think I am nuts. I know he is here, I can feel him almost every day. Yes, I will say “He” because the presence I feel is that of a male. I am not sure who he is or why he is here, but never have I felt threatened by him.

It started about six years ago when I moved in with my Sister after dealing with a horrible illness that is linked to genetics. I have to say depression took me over quickly and I remember sitting here crying my eyes out because I was just that sad. I was the only one in the house at the time and I can remember feeling suddenly extremely warm. It felt like someone was hugging me. The tears stopped and I sat here wondering what had just happened. As whatever it was let me go, I then felt a sudden cool breeze pass by me. I am no stranger to the paranormal and I passed it off as a Angel watching over me.

Since that day, strange and some times funny things happen around the house I have no explanation for. Items not where my Sister and I leave them, only to find them in strange places several days later. We do laugh about it for the most part. She and I have both been witnesses to seeing a form of a human shape pass by the family room entrance numerous times. I think the scariest thing that has happened is the night I was home alone. I heard a bunch of racket going on in the kitchen. Even my dogs, who are very protective of me refused to go down the hallway to investigate what was going on. They both high tailed it to where I was sitting and cowardly sat there whimpering. I had to show them that nothing was there so I got up and dragged both dogs with me. When I got to the kitchen what I saw not only awed me, but left me feeling like….Holy crap! Every single cabinet door in the kitchen was open. Now since I was home alone, I knew I didn’t do that because I had been in the kitchen about an hour before this took place. Showing whoever or whatever was in my house that they did not scare me I went directly to our bar in the dining room and placed a shot glass on top of the bar. I then proceeded to tell them to “help themselves”. During this time my two huge protectors left and ran back into the family room, where they hid behind reclining chairs. It was quiet for the rest of the evening and I was relieved.

Who ever it is that likes my house so much, I have to say I don’t mind him. He is actually a comfort to me on nights when I am home alone. He doesn’t bother me and when he is around I always feel a peaceful atmosphere. He is very welcomed to stay as long as he wants, just as long as he behaves himself.
