Living in a haunted house – Part 2

My family in the coarse of growing up have lived in a couple different haunted houses. One when I was very young, practically chased my family out. Sheets that were packed away in boxes in the attic, fell on my uncle when he opened the trap door to the attic. The boxes were not chewed at by animals. My mother heard loud noises stomping around in the attic and in one instance there was a loud groaning coming from the attic. Scared my mother enough to grab us kids and run to the neighbor in her underwear. The neighbor came over to investigate it with gun in hand and when she heard the noises ran back outside. These were only a few of the things that happened in that house. The best story is that my older brother was at a party many years later and they were talking about haunted houses. He found out that a girl who was there told stories about the same house. She had moved in some time after we left.
In another house, my brother and his wife and son were living with my parents for a short time. They heard someone walking up the steps next to their room. My nephew who was only three was deathly afraid to go up those stairs. When I helped them move out, I waited at the house alone with their dog while they took a load to the new house. I heard someone stomping really hard upstairs and I know I was the only one there.
That is my story of haunted houses. I would also like to give my opinion of what it really is. As a Christian, I do not believe the dead walk around haunting houses. When we die, we go to heaven or hell. We do not hang around scaring people. However I do believe in angels and demons. I do believe those spirits are among us. When we have what we think of as ghosts in our house, what we truly have are evil spirits. Yes, I know they dont always seem evil. That some can act friendly. They are evil none-the-less. They are not of God and they are not dead people’s souls. The reason some of these spirits know so much about the person who might have died there, is because they are whats called familiar spirits. Demons that have stayed around that person throughout his or her life. Therefore the spirit knows everything about that person.
Spiritual research into the existence of ghosts – Part 1

The amount of misinformation put forth by various Christian “experts” on the subject of Ghosts never ceases to amaze me, especially considering most of their widely varying doctrines prohibit them from gaining any practical experience on the subject.
To sum up those “teachings”, one can simply say that “any ghost is the minion of Satan”, and one will be doctrinally correct to 95% of existent Christian churches. Unfortunately for those seriously interested in the question, those “teachings” are very largely incorrect.
There are several different phenomena which are lumped into the classification of “ghost” or “haunting” in the popular vernacular. They can, at times, appear very similar, but there are some important differences.
In a technical sense, the “true ghost” is effectively the soul of a deceased person who has become “trapped” in some fashion between the worlds. This “trapping” is relatively rare, generally non-permanent in nature, and is most often instigated by the mindset of the person in question as they die. In my experience, the vast majority of “true ghosts” were persons who, for whatever reason, became terrified of “crossing into the light” and fled from the gateway that opens for the soul upon death. These individuals are often frightened and miserable, and will occasionally seek out those who can interact with them so as to obtain “help”.
The “true ghost” will often be unwilling to accept that they are, in fact, dead, or otherwise hold some irrational fear of “crossing over.” Their lot is a miserable one, to be honest, and it does a disservice to them to classify them as “evil spirits” or “demons.” That they can sometimes be unpleasant is beyond question. Any being who is heavily suffering, frightened, and desperate is likely to be unpleasant to interact with, be they living, dead, or of an entirely spiritual nature. Compassion and patience are required when dealing with these entities, and often the simple act of listening and acknowledging that they are cared about by someone is enough to heal their fear and allow them to cross to their appointed place in peace. Other times a larger effort is required, much akin to modern counseling. In some extreme cases, someone possessing the ability to do so may be required to literally “shove” them through the gateway, but this practice is significantly debated for ethical and moral reasons which I won’t get into here.
A variant of the “true ghost” is the “purposeful ghost”. These

Anyone who wants to be a ghost hunter, usually watches shows on this subject. You can see shows such as “Ghosthunters”[referred to as "TAPS"].The Atlantic Paranormal Society. This group uses EMF detectors,EVP recorders, and Thermal Imaging cams. Some ghost hunting groups will also bring along someone who is intuitive or “sensitive” about ghosts.According to one world renowned psychic,”the veil between this world and the other side is thinning”.This accounts for more reports of ghost sightings than has ever been. Also, there are more “psychic” children being born.I believe that although the above said may in part be true,I also believe it is because of the way we have evolved as a society.Something we were once to told not to speak of,is now no longer being viewed as being “unchristian”.Also, everyone who watches or reads anything to do with the supernatural, knows of a couple called the “Warrens”.This couple has helped many people with their “unexplanined phenonmena” over the years. Some people are told, “ghosts can’t hurt you”.According to the “Warrens”,on one case they worked together,{unfortunately her husband is no longer with us],nails were thrown at them.Had they not moved out of the way in time, those nails would’ve been stuck in them, instead of the wall behind them. Some “ghost hunters” will perform seances,or use “ouija” boards to make contact with the dead. However, there are those who believe doing either of these opens a portal, causing evil spirits to come through.Which ever you decide to choose in ghosthunting,I say that you should exercise caution.Dealing with the unknown is never something you should take lightly.

In the modern theatrical world, vampires have taken a new dimension of art. Vampires have existed in all the cultures of all civilizations all over the world.
WHAT IS A VAMPIRE?
The Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) defines vampire as”a preternatural being, commonly believed to be a reanimated corpse, that is said to suck the blood of sleeping persons at night.”
Another meaning and definition given by it is from the Eastern European folklore,”a corpse or animated by an undeparted soul or demon, that periodically leaves the grave and disturbs the living, until it is exhumed and impaled or burned.”Vampires are supposed to be reincarnated personifications of witches, dead evil spirits and the suicide persons. Vampire persons prey ruthlessly upon others. They may be extortionist or even a woman who unscrupulously exploits, ruins, or degrades the men she seduces or may also be an actress noted for her roles as an unscrupulous seductress as seen in the vampires of the silent movies.
VAMPIRES OF ALL CIVILIZATIONS
Vampires are found in all civilizations. Folklore traditions from around the world feature various forms of blood-sucking monsters. They are the strange personifications of frightened minds. Fear was personified as strange living beings. There are a lot of folklore traditions all over the ancient and modern world which narrate that their frightening figures were roaming about in dark nights to drink the blood of fearful people.
BLOOD DRINKING PERSIAN VAMPIRES
There are references in the ancient Persian civilization about vampires of strange beings drinking blood of humans. The Jewish vampire about the Hebrew demon Lilith which might have come from the Persian mythology was said to drink the blood of babies.
VAMPIRES OF EASTERN EUROPE
Bulk of vampire lore hails from Eastern Europe and the surrounding areas. Blood suckers are commonly found in these mythologies. Some similar creatures suck their victims completely of psychic or sexual energy, health, and the life energy of their victims.
ORIGINS OF EUROPEAN VAMPIRES
Most legends regarding vampires found in Europe are the legacy of Slavic cultures. Vampire folklore flourished among the Romanized inhabitants of Eastern Europe, the Romanians, and was further originated by the beliefs of the Gypsies roaming in the area. India, the ancestral homeland of the Gypsies, has extensive traditions regarding vampires.
NOSFERATU THE ROMANIAN VAMPIREThe Romanian vampire Nosferatu is now well-known to the Western world
‘67 Chevrolet Impala Goes Supernatural

The 1967 Chevrolet Impala went the extra mile to become a supernatural car. Not that it became a shaman or something magical – the Impala is part of a paranormal television series dubbed ‘Supernatural.’
In the Supernatural show, Winchester brothers travel the highways and minor roads of North America in quest of their missing father. Along the way they stumble upon various evil spirits with which they fight.
Now in its second season, Channel 10’s Supernatural intends to show other big stars aside from brothers Dean and Sam Winchester. And that big star is the ’67 Impala – a big black American muscle car. Many viewers wondered what kind of car the Winchester brothers drive. Actually, the car owned by older brother Dean is, in fact, a four-door 1967 Chevrolet Impala.
When the car was destroyed at the end of the first season, Eric Kripke, the creator of the show Supernatural, divulged he was inundated with letters from fans wanting to know if the vehicle was going to make a return. “When I was originally writing the show I wanted to give the guys an American muscle car,” Kripke said. “My first choice was a ‘65 Mustang. My neighbor said it had to be a ‘67 Impala because you can put a body in the trunk. “He says, ‘You want a car that, when people stop next to it at the lights, they lock their doors’.”
The Impala, launched in 1958 as an upmarket, sporty product line for Bel Air coupes and convertibles, features classic styling cues that include six taillights. In 1959, the car became a separate model in both two- and four-door versions.
Eventually, the car became the best-selling car in the Chevrolet lineup. Starting in 1960, the car holds the best-seller title for the next decade. To stress, from 1958 until 1966, sales of the Impala were in excess of 13 million units, more than any other full-size car in the auto history. In 1965, the car etched an all-time annual sales record of more than one million units in the United States. Up until the present time, the record of more than 13 million sales has never been surpassed.
In 1973, when energy crisis became a big headache, sales of the car declines. This event has prompted the automaker to redesign the car to meet the changing demands of the purchasers. The production of the car continues to this day. The 1967 model as featured on the show came with a choice of inline six-cylinder as well as the famous Chevy small-block and big-block V8s.
The Impala may not be featuring some renowned parts like the Chevrolet pickup overhead racks but the car makes history by itself. Ed Cole, Chevrolet’s chief engineer in the late 1950s, defined the Impala as a “prestige car within the reach of the average American citizen.”
Five black Impalas are utilized in the production of the Supernatural. In the pilot episode, the Impala’s huge trunk is revealed to hold a traveling armory of weapons used by the Winchesters to fight the supernatural forces. The Impala has a Sedgwick County, Kansas license plate KAZ 2Y5, a reference to Kansas, the lead stars’ home state.
The Impala has been nicknamed the Metallicar by fans of the show. The car takes its name from the speedy antelope found on the grasslands of central and southern of Africa. The two-door Super Sport version of the car is credited for the inception of the muscle car milieu. For the 2009 or 2010 model year, the Impala will be heavily redesigned. Sales are expected to begin by 2008.
