Pondering the existence of ghosts, demons and angels – Part 21

Do ghosts, demons, and angels really exist? So far scientific evidence has not been able to prove or disprove their existence. However, there are countless tales of these entities both current and those that predate written history. Most of us have either had experiences ourselves or have heard accounts by family or friends of unexplained occurrences pertaining to ghosts, demons, or angels. The most chilling story I have heard is as follows;

This is the true story of a highway haunting which happened to my friend Elliot years ago. Elliot is not the type of person who plays practical jokes or makes up stories. He is a serious guy by nature. Never into drugs and only drinks alcohol moderately. When he tells you something you can bank on it being the truth as he knows it. It was a Friday night in early summer when on a lark, Elliot and his friend Jimmy decided to take a road trip from Phoenix to Tucson. This is not a long trip, about two and a half hours on Interstate 10 from Elliot’s apartment to downtown Tucson. Since they had started out rather late they decided to stop at a little roadside diner near Picacho Peak for a cup of coffee to keep them awake. As they walked up to the entrance of the diner they noticed an unusually large German Shepherd Dog laying by the door. Elliot gave the dog a pat on the head as he walked past and on into the doorway. They were in the diner for about 20 minutes and when they came out the dog was nowhere to be seen. They got back into the car, wide awake from their caffeine fix and proceeded on towards Tucson. They had only been on the highway for about ten minutes with Jimmy at the wheel when out of the corner of his eye something caught Elliot’s attention. It was dark out but the object could be clearly seen in his peripheral vision as it was next to the car only at arms length away from his side window, which was down. As Elliot turned to look, it had caught up to the point where Jimmy caught a glimpse of it too. To their amazement and horror they saw what looked to be the same German Shepherd that had been laying in front of the diner. Jimmy was driving at approximately 65 mph. The dog was running on his back legs only and easily keeping up with them, right outside Elliot’s window! In shock and disbelief, both Elliot and Jimmy watched the dog for several seconds. The dog then turned his head and looked inside the car at them. At that point it grinned what Elliot described as a demonic grin. Then, in an instant it sped off, still on it’s back legs and disappeared from sight. They never saw it again. I heard Elliot tell his story one time and after that he refused to talk about it. He was clearly shaken by his experience.

Both Elliot and Jimmy witnessed the very same thing. Drugs and alcohol can be ruled out. And I don’t think it is likely that two people would for some odd reason hallucinate the same sight at the same time. I trust that their account was not a deliberate fabrication. So what was it? Did Elliot and Jimmy experience a close encounter of the demonic kind? Their perception was that it was an evil being. Yet it did no harm to them. Perhaps it was benevolent in nature. After all, aren’t German Shepherd Dogs considered to be guardians of people? Maybe the entity took on the image of a German Shepherd as a way of trying to gain trust from them. But for what purpose? The questions are endless and the answers are sadly lacking. Hopefully, one day science will be able to give us the answers we seek to the question of whether ghosts, demons, and angels really do exist. Until that day, I will always reflect on Elliot’s tale as an unexplained highway haunting.

Things that go bump in the night are enough to frighten most people, but how many will actually admit they believe in ghosts? According to a recent poll by The Associated Press and Ipsos, about a third of Americans do. This is also in keeping with a Baylor University study that found 37 per cent of those surveyed believe that places can be haunted. Probably a lot more people actually do believe in ghosts, but don’t want to admit it. Many Christians believe in demons, but follow the Bible teaching that they are not to communicate with the dead. But they do not doubt the existence of evil spirits.

Just turn on the television and you will be treated to an amazing amount of paranormal programming. These days it is very common to find several shows per night that deal with communicating with the dead, psychics helping to solve crimes, ghost hunters, etc.

Studies have shown that at least 3/4 of America’s youth have been engaged in some type of psychic or witchcraft related pursuit, other than reading horoscopes or watching television. One out of 10 teens reported participating in a seance, while 1 out of 12 reported trying to cast a spell or make a magic potion. This was according to a study by George Barna, as cited on the Christian Broadcasting Network web site. Only 1/4 of teens surveyed, who attended church, said they had received any teaching concerning the supernatural.

It appears sadly, that the church has been at a loss for words. However, Christianity is a religion full of the supernatural. Young people and adults alike are desirous to observe power in action. If they don’t see it in the church, they will often look for it elsewhere. Some of what they find is fake, but many so called psychics are exhibiting a supernatural knowledge at times. They have opened themselves up to demonic influences and powers, that Christians are warned not to indulge in. The Bible forbids consulting mediums, and communicating with the dead. Demons can impersonate people, and are referred to as familiar spirits. This is so destructive because it causes desperate people to focus on something other than God for comfort and peace. This also often draws the person into other occult activities.

There are true gifts from God of prophecy, words of knowledge, and words of wisdom, that can give guidance or comfort to a believer, but these gifts will never be used to contact the dead. I am the Moderator on a Grief Discussion Board, and I am amazed at how many Christians do

Spiritual research into the existence of ghosts

The term ghost’ generically refers to various types of subtle (invisible) bodies such as demons, devils, witches, etc. who have the intention of harming others. The Spiritual Science Research Foundation has undertaken extensive research on ghosts in order to demystify this widespread phenomenon and help people in recognising and treating the adverse effects caused by ghosts through proven methodology according to the Spiritual science.

Ghosts (demons, devils, spirits) though neither visible to the gross eye, nor perceived by the other sense organs, mind and intellect are factors that affect all mankind. The manifestations of distress due to ghosts can be from a person displaying uncharacteristic behaviour to erratic display of violence, addictions, various physical and psychological illnesses, family problems, business problems, etc.

1. Ghost characteristics

Ghosts (demons, devils, spirits) are subtle (invisible) bodies

Ghosts belong to the nether region or one of the seven regions of hell but are found on Earth region too

Ghosts (demons, devils, spirits) do not exist in the positive planes of the universe i.e. heaven

Ghosts (demons, devils, spirits) have unfulfilled desires such as cravings for sex, alcohol (things that they can only experience through a physical body), revenge, etc.

Ghosts (demons, devils, spirits) derive pleasure out of exerting control over and tormenting humans

The general aim of ghosts is spreading unrighteousness and consequent turbulent havoc in society.

2. Who can become a ghost?

People who have died with unfulfilled desires, personality defects, negative impressions in the mind, high ego, who have harmed others and/or have the basic nature of harming others. Most importantly people who have not done spiritual practice according to the basic principles of Spirituality while alive are likely to become ghosts in their afterlife.

3. What is the meaning of being affected by ghosts’?

Being affected by ghosts (demons, devils, spirits, etc.) is when the physical, mental, intellectual or spiritual functioning of a person or any combination thereof is affected or altered by the ghosts entirely through the use of ghosts’ black energy without direct intervention by the ghosts. Since there is no direct intervention by the ghosts, there is no controlling of the mind and intellect of the affected person.

However the ghost affects that aspect of the person, which is most conducive to achieving its objective; either

Perhaps we believe in another realm because we are not happy with what we are experiencing. Maybe it is because we don’t have control over everything, and we know this. Or maybe it’s just because it’s like software in a new computer. It comes installed from our childhood years. Why do people believe in ghosts? I don’t know. Do I believe in ghosts? I don’t know that either! I do know that if I am going to believe in a higher power without solid proof then I should at least consider the possibility of demons, angels, and of course ghosts.

Most people do not believe in supernatural happenings and the sort. I guess it just all depends on your religion, background, and personality. Oh, and your situation. I’m not worried about ghosts, but if I’m home alone I hear every noise my house makes and I usually end up sleeping with a light on. But I’m that type of person. SCAREDY CAT! But I don’t honestly think you can argue about ghosts. Nothing really PROVES they are here, but nothing PROVES they’re not either!

Ghosts

My first memory of the mention of ghosts is when I was in preschool, where on Halloween we were told friendly Halloween tales and where we made goblin puppets out of paper bags. Ghosts were as simple as the preschoolers discussing them; the average specter consisted only of a sheet-like body, with happy face holes if it was cheerful and a sad-face cutout if it was unhappy (the stories about gloomy ghosts always revealed easily attainable solutions, and the stories unfailingly ended with the ghosts becoming happy, surrounded by ghost-y friends and family). My view of ghosts has changed drastically since my first memorable preschool Halloween; ghosts were so “nice”, so impersonal, for they were all the same. But I have learned this view of the supernatural is laughable, for since my very early childhood I have been discovering what ghosts truly are, and that each person has unique spirits haunting them. I believe ghosts are the whispers after someone leaves forever, the voice of a recently dead lover, echoing, you think, everywhere, but after close inspection you realize the voice resides solely in your despair. Ghosts are the teasing yet threatening beings who play jokes in your home- turning lights off and on, making the attic creak; they are the face you see out of the corner of your eye, the blurry image in a photograph. Ghosts are your long-dead kindred watching over you, protecting you from danger, yelling out helpful advice you can only occasionally perceive. Ghosts are your fears, your worries, your memories, that control you, define you. Ghosts are everything not fully evident in the physical world- they are the invisible bones that keep humans in one emotional piece, devastating us sometimes with their knowledge but always saving us, supporting us so that we can face the world standing.

Is there such things as ghost and demons? Are there angels?

Give me your most heart felt answer.

What is it that makes you fall short of giving an absolute “yes or no?”

Those of you who, Do feel, you are clear as to what you believe, what is

it that gives you reassurance, one way or another?

I can tell you for the most part its a matter of what you choose to believe!

if you want to believe in ghost, then you “Ponder the possibility” likewise if you find it a waste of time, childish, or sincerely believe nothing about any subject of the “supernatural.”

If however you view this as “An earnest study,” To take as much evidence one way or another.

Lets say you are offered a paid vacation, To go as if it were a survey of sorts.

Assuming of course, your “worthy” of your word to: sincerly, find and support your answer.

To a skeptic I would send to the wilderness deep in the woods.

So you could not hide in the safety, that we can ‘all feel, There are no ghosts!

So that your immagination can run, Wild! You realize the world was once a scary place, In the dark; where you are not IN CONTROL’of what you believe. Rather the realization that everything is not so, “cut and dry” as we make it seem.

How little we really’ Do know.

I think you would ponder the existance of a complete “buffet” of monsters, ghost, bigfeet, you would be certain of one thing; All alone in the wild-

This is NOT! Where you want to meet one, if there, by chance,

“Such things,” As Ghosts!

The first question you need to ask yourself is “Do you believe in God?” For in that is the first step to answering the question whether angels, demons and ghost exist.

Let us say you do NOT believe in God. In this case you would not believe in heaven or hell either. You believe that your soul is an energy that either seizes to exist after you die or it is consumed by other life forms. In this way of thinking their is no such thing as a ghost and definitely no angels or demons.

The more common belief is that God does exist. If you believe he ixists than how can you not believe that the bible is not accurate? If God is powerful enough to create the heavens and earth and the mountains and oceans… if God can create man and put life into him, then how can he not have enough power to make sure his word is coppied accurately? Yet his word tells us very clearly that angels and demons do exist. Simply stating, if you believe in God, then you should believe that Angels and demons are real as well. So that leaves us with ghosts.

Once again, if you believe in God then you should believe in the bible. The bible states that when someone dies they will face God and either be allowed to enter the kingdom of heaven or be cast into the depths of hell. That decision will be the consequence of the choice we made while we are alive. If we held Jesus in our hearts and strove to be closer to him or if we did not. The bible however does not leave any room for us wandering on earth in the spirit or being stuck on earth for some reason before we are allowed to enter heaven. So the idea that when people die they remain as ghost is not real. So this is where some will say “what about seances and aperitions and such?

I know someone who went to a psychic once who said that her dead father was there. She told her things that only her father would have known. So understandably she believed the psychic was real. The problem hear is her lack of understanding of what really transpires. Everyone thinks of deoms as ugly misshapened beasts with bat like wings and so on. They believe demons are only going to do horrible things. What they do not understand is that Satan is also refered to as the Great Deceiver! He will come as something completely different than you expect and seem to be good but have his own motives in mind. There are also demons who are known as Familiar Spirits. They spend every moment around us and know everything about us. When one goes to a true psychic, it is with this demon the psychic communicates with. In this particular case, since this familiar spirit knows everything about this girls father, it knew things only her father knows. The psychic relates this to her and bingo she believes his ghost is there. So the more she believes in this, the less she believes the bible. The demon has done its job. As for apperitions and such, they serve the same purpose. They will take on the form of a dead person, move items that was a dead grandparents favorite thing and so on. The more people they convince that the dead walk the earth as ghost, the more they convince that either heaven doesnt exist or that you can find a way to heaven after you die.

We live in a spiritual world. Demons are trying to tear us away from God and Angels are trying to protect us. The less we believe in the bible and the less we pray, the less protection we have. If you do not believe me, then I would challenge you. Do you believe in God? Then investigate what the bible says about it all. Talk to your pastors or priests.

Some today think that angels are helping us. However, the description of these angels fits the Bible’s description of the pantheistic angels (demons, evil spirits) in the way that they use tentacled webbing that appears to contain jewels to hook into us. Ezekiel 28 describes the fall of Lucifer. He is the guardian cherub of Eden who falls into wickedness, is perfect in beauty and has jewels. 2 Corinthians 11:14 says: “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”

In Book of Angels, by Sylvia Browne, she says that the angels’ appear to people using “fibrous silver thread” that winds between us and them forming a tentacled webbing that appears to contain jewels. They generate “wonderful feelings of safety and security”, they “are both watchful and perceptive; they constantly keep their gaze fastened on us” and “they hook right into our chakras.” These beings operate charts correlating to human experience. This reminds me of TV shows such as Bewitched and I Dream of Jeanie.

This kind of gazing “love” is suggestive of the idea that light obscures the reality, rather than illuminating it. The demons are angels with poor EQ. Unfortunately, many people seem to think that wrath is scary and that the demons are so much more warm and fuzzy. The Bible says in Proverbs: Better an open rebuke than a hidden love.

In contrast, the golden hooks in the Jewish temple supported a curtain with embroidered cherubim on it (Exodus 26:31-33) and hid the Ark of the Testimony. The testimony that Jesus gave when he went back to heaven was a promise for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 9:24; 10:23; John 14:16-18). Psalms 139:13-16 shows that the womb and the earth are related symbols. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.”

We can all look at the stigma and stereo types that make up this vast subject. But we never link what could be the obvious to this subject either. Could we include the a sub channel of will power and self- Belief to the Fold? Us as human being are always to quick to pass the blame or fault to others. Look at it like this: You are a captain of a ship and to cut a long story short, It’s sinking-FAST!You know the worst is near but you keep that glimmer of hope that in the end wins you the day?

So is self-belief Supernatural?

I myself or many of you reading this will proberbly never ever know. But we need to look further than the stigma attached. Some aspects of supernatural beliefs are religion in their own right and it is someone else’s belief. It’s there strength in knowing ‘hey, my Grandfather is watching over me’ that gets certain people through life. We all need comforts wether its Chocolate, Fish and Chips, Or Religion people will do what people do and we all have different out looks.

I myself am no preacher, but always look at all questioned aspects of my life rationally (first) then try and work out the reasons after. If that fails then its open to debate. I have always found it interesting that people tend to see spirits during the night? Its a scientific fact that the mind plays tricks on people when they are tired. Could this be the reason of people seeing others from years past?

Or is the parralell universe that we here so much about really there?

My point I was to see something in the night I would would more than likely wake up the next day and think I had a dream last Night, Some would think ‘wow I saw a ghost’ and there will proberbly be afew that will just forget or think its a dream.

I personally dont think its fair to push thoughts on people who dont want them. If you believe you believe, If you dont people should let people be.
