They may also appear as a flesh and blood person in a ... ]]> For hundreds of years there have been claims of ghosts being captured on film or video. You have the ever popular “doctored” image and the occasional real treasures. For most of my life I have had experiences with the supernatural and being the adventurous spirit I have often experimented with cameras, tape recorders and the like. I have heard and seen many things that skeptics would lift their eyebrow at and say it is impossible.

The truth of the matter is you without a doubt can capture ghosts on camera. I have done this myself. What you have to be sure of is your surroundings and make sure that there is or was nothing in the area that could have made the image. An example would be dust floating around or steamed windows. These might be contradictory to what you think you are seeing. There is quite a bit of “debunking” that occurs when you take the picture and review it afterwards.

An example of a ghost I had captured on film was when my husband and I were actively going to graveyards at dusk. This is the most optimal time to capture a ghost on camera because the lighting is darker and makes them easier to see.

The graveyard we were in was a local one. We parked the car and just started walking around taking pictures of old tombstones. This is the basics of graveyard photography. You just take a bunch of pictures where you think a ghost may manifest itself on your camera. There was no one else in the graveyard except the two of us. When we were done taking the pictures we reviewed them and found two surprises that we did not see when snapping the pictures.

In one picture, is a wide shot of many tombstones and near a small gravesite was the image of a little boy who appeared to be no older than twelve years old and had short blond hair. He was dressed in a brown outfit with a white collar that seemed to be of 1800 period clothing or earlier.

Of course, we were ecstatic that we had found something but we also had to find out that nothing was inadvertently causing the image. So we headed back to the graveyard and matched the photo with the location of the site where the image appeared. There were no markers with any color or trees that blocked the sight of the gravesite. The boy’s head was taller than the hedges in the area and we checked the hedges

Now there are malevolent spirits but ... ]]> The rattling of chains, a cold chill down your back, your hairs standing on end. Thats what most people think of when they think of ghosts. Most people have either a fear of ghosts or just don’t care. Me? I believe ghosts are here for one of three reasons.

1. They are afraid to move on. I met a little boy who was abused in life and felt like it was his fault. He did not want to move on until he was forgiven. I am still working on how to help him move on.

2. They have a purpose. A spirit could stay around because they feel like they have something to teach to the ones they left behind. Or they feel like they have to teach other people who are going through what they went through in life.

3. They don’t know that they are dead. I met a young man who had lived in my apartment before me. He had commited suicide and he thought he was still alive. The first day i moved in he thought I was breaking into his apartment. I would unpack things and he would put them back in the box. It wasn’t until I sat down and talked to him that he realized that he was dead.

Ghosts should not be feared. They are just lost or trying to help someone find their way in life. Now there are malevolent spirits but they are different from ghosts. Malevolent spirits don’t care about anyone else but themselves. They usually use other spirit’s energy in order to manifest. Usually it is the home owners spirit that they feed off of. These spirits can be dealt with. Heres how:

1. Malevolent Spirits feed off fear. Fear is apart of your energy that the spirit feeds from. Fear is what gives it the most power over you. Do not show fear or even let it know that you fear it. It craves and needs that attention. Now it will try to scare you in order for you to show fear but when it comes around trying to scare you just close your eyes and go to a different place in your mind.

2. Blessing and Cleansing. Most people when they move into a new home they just have it blessed but what they don’t know is in order for the new house to be fully blessed it has to be cleansed first and I am not talking about washing it with bleach. You have to first let the spirits know (whether they are malevolent or not)that it is YOUR house now not theirs. Then imagine (or visualize) a white light washing over home. Make sure you get every nick and crany that includes the basement and/or attic where spirits can hide. Then imagine that you have gathered all the darkness that was in your home into a ball, raise it out of your home and into the sky, and then imagine either god’s hands or an angels hands gathering it and putting it where it belongs. Now you are just left with good spirits and if you don’t want them just ask them to go home.

3. DO NOT MOVE. If you move that only encourages the malevolent spirit and it will follow you. Stay put and reclaim your home. Be aggressive. Take charge of the situation. If you feel you need help call your local perish or someone of your spirituality to help you out. If they won’t help you call a local medium that you feel comfortable with.

They appear to be in a dreamlike state and not totally conscious of their own existence. Ghosts reside in another dimension or plane. It is possible for a ghost not to be seen by everyone. One reason for this may be that the ghost is attached to a particular person, place or thing and manifest themselves only when the object of their attachment is present.

Communicating with a ghost requires a strong faith in God. Ghosts may be attracted to a person’s inner light or soul. People who have a closer relationship with God or Jesus Christ appear to be stronger mediums. The reasons for this may be that a ghost, who is trapped between this world and the next is attracted to people who emit a much brighter light. Individuals who posses a close relationship with our creator ultimately emit a brighter light or aura from their souls.

We know through psychic research that many credible psychics and mediums who have had near death experiences are gifted with abilities which enable them to see into the future and communicate with the dead. Another reason some people may be able to see ghosts while others cannot is that the ghost or spirit really does not exist. Numerous ghosts sightings can be connected to human misconception.

Failure to screen out natural or scientific causes for hauntings by ghosts can be blamed as the cause of misunderstandings, misinterpretations and misconceptions of the appearance of ghosts. Perhaps, a rodent was responsible for strange scratching noises inside of a wall and not a ghost. An overzealous ghost buster may misreport that the activity was actually caused by a ghost when it was not. This could be embarrassing to everyone involved if the incident was not investigated properly and the true cause of the scratching noise went undiscovered.

Lastly, people may not be able to see ghosts because the person or persons who initially reported their presence was committing fraud. They may deceive people into believing a ghost or spirit exists when in fact they do not. People do this for a variety of reasons, which can consist of the desire for attention, fame and money.

When a report of a haunting by a ghost or spirit is received do the following:

1. eliminate any natural or scientific explanation for the incident or event

2. consult with church leaders or ministers before attempting communication

3. establish the credibility of the persons involved who may have witnessed the incident or event involved in a haunting

4. make reliable reports to professionals
