The Four Main Tools Comprising Wicca Kits
A lot of Wiccans believe that a significant part of their power is harnessed from the tools that he or she uses, tools that all Wicca kits must have. These tools and kits are instrumental in channeling the energy of the cosmos - to help the witch achieve what he or she has set out to do. Also, these tools and kits are seen as basic representations of the human body, and fortify the person’s link to the cosmos.
The four most essential tools found in Wicca Kits are: a wand, a pentagram, a chalice and an athame. These four tools represent the four basic elements of Nature: wand for fire; pentagram for earth; chalice for water; and athame for air. These are also the four suits of the Tarot cards - Wands, Cups (or Chalice), Swords (or Athame) and Pentacles (or Pentagram). Moreover, they serve as symbols of the human body. The wand and the athame (both phallic symbols) stand for masculine power; the chalice depicts a woman’s womb; and the pentagram is related to the head, the arms and the legs, or the five points of the body.
Wicca Kits Tool # 1: The Wand
The wand is necessary in a Wiccan’s Wicca Kits. While it may not be the instrument that most people consider can be used to transform a person into a frog, the wand is still a very important part of a Wiccan. It is used to direct energy while doing a magick rite or a ritual. Effective at harnessing or sending energy, the wand means that the witch has something that can help him or her achieve his or her goal better. Pointing the wand at a person, a place, or a thing will send energy into the projected object. Raising it to the skies will allow the witch to tap from the power of the heavens. Also, during rites and rituals, the wand is used to draw a protective circle around people.
Wicca Kits Tool # 2: The Pentagram
The pentagram is primarily a protective tool for witches. When casting spells or conducting rituals, a pentagram is drawn on the air to ensure that protection is available from all crucial points. It is also used as a protective accessory, usually in the form of a protective amulet. In the houses and altars of witches too, the pentagram is usually painted or adorned.
Wicca Kits Tool # 3: The Chalice
During rites of magick and rituals, witches normally have to drink potions and certain beverages. This is what the chalice is good for. But, it’s not just a tool that holds liquid. Some covens believe that it stands for the unity of witches - as it is normally passed from witch to witch, when a coven holds a rite or a ritual.

Wicca Kits Tool # 4: The Athame
The athame is used to clear away (symbolically) negative energies when a witch casts a spell or conducts a rite. It is also used to strike obstacles (again, symbolically) and steer them away from a protected circle. As it would not be used for physical purposes, Wicca Kits do not need to sport a sharp athame. Still, a lot of witches prefer using the athame instead of the wand when drawing sacred circles.
Other tools found in Wicca Kits include:
* A cauldron - used for both practical and symbolic purposes and is effective at a variety of tasks that are associated with rites, rituals and spell-casting)
* A broom or a besom - used to sweep away undesirable negative energies from protective circles and sacred spaces
